About Us
PURPOSE​: To engage in and to encourage the performance and practice of Scottish Country Dancing in accordance with the principles and standards laid down by the Royal Scottish Dance Society of Edinburgh, Scotland. To provide, and to assist in providing instruction in Scottish Country Dancing.
Kelowna SCD is affiliated to the RSCDS of Edinburgh. In accordance with their principles and standards we strive to encourage the practice of SCD in Kelowna. By providing instruction in the dance form, the best available dance music, a welcoming venue and most of all friendship, we enable people to engage and delight in this splendid dance form.
OUR TEACHER: Karin Wagstaff
This is Karin's first year as our official instructor; she took over for Shelagh who completed years of faithful service to our club. Karin just passed her unit 5 Scottish country dance exam and is now a certified teacher. Congratulations Karin! She pushes us to be better dancers and we enjoy having her lead our group every week.
We are a Scottish Country Dance group based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Our club was started in 1971 and we have been going strong ever since. We have 27 members who range in age, background and skill level and we always love to see new faces. Come join us, get some exercise (although it doesn't feel like it), enjoy the music and make some new friends.
